We are trying to create the same sense of community that we all feel in person, online. Join us for a day of community. We will have 30-minute Zoom sessions where we can practice or learn some coping skills, also live-streamed on Facebook. Enjoy time for us all to walk in our own neighborhoods at the same time and some stories of hope.

Frequently Asked Questions for NAMIWalks Hawaii Virtual Walk


What does a virtual walk look like? A virtual walk means that we will be participating in online activities on walk day. This could mean you will be doing something individually on your social media or that you will be participating with us in the online community we will create. We will be live streaming Zoom sessions to Facebook. Zoom links will be sent via email when we are closer to our walk date. 

When can I register?   You can sign up today until the day of the walk at www.namiwalks.org/hawaii   Or contact info@namihawaii.org.

Can I Volunteer?  Yes, we need volunteers to help with getting the word out, getting people registered, etc. Please email anisa@namihawaii.org

Does it cost anything?  No.  IT IS FREE. There is no registration fee, but we encourage everyone to raise at least $100 for a free t-shirt.  There are other incentives for fundraising until 30 days after the walk.  The more you raise, there better the prize, such as caps, jackets and other great items.  

How do I get my event t-shirt?  If you have raised $100, you are eligible for an event t-shirt.  We will have some sort of T-Shirt pick-up day. More information will be given. 

Will there be activities for kids?  Yes! We will have a few online sessions for kids. 

Will there be prizes?  Yes!  We will be giving away prizes and their will be opportunities to win throughout the event day. 

What will there be to do?  There will be 30 minute sessions centering around coping skills and mental wellness. Some of the sessions include meditation, art, music, movement, etc. 

Can I turn in donations after the event?  Yes, you may send donations after the event to:  NAMI Hawaii, 770 Kapiolani Blvd. Suite 613, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.

How do I get my event t-shirt?  If you have raised $100, you are eligible for an event t-shirt.  If you are on a team, your team captain will get your t-shirt coupon for you.  If you are walking as an individual, head to the registration tent when you arrive to get your t-shirt coupon. 

When should I arrive and what should I do when I get there?  Check in starts at 8 am and the walk starts at 9 am.   If you are with a team, check with your team captain about where you want to meet as a group, and then your team captain can head to the registration tent to collect your t-shirt tickets and walker bags.  If you are walking as an individual, head to the registration tent to collect your walker bag and turn in any registration forms or donations you still have.  Then enjoy the entertainment until the Walk kicks off at 9 am.

Can I bring my dog? Yes!  Please bring your leash, water bowl, and waste bags.

Will there be food and water?  Snacks and water will also be provided, while supplies last.  Please bring your own water bottles, we will have filling stations and paper cups.

What if it rains?  We will walk rain or shine, although we expect it to be sunny.  

Will there be prizes?  Yes!  

What will there be to do?  There will be a live performances, prizes and lots of fun walking to bring awareness.
